CHIEF’S REPORT APRIL 20, 2021

Activity:         

  • Incidents since last Board Meeting:

    • County Injection site (Tuthill) to close end of April State to open POD at NAU
  • Supply of protective equipment

Equipment:    

  • Apparatus Update
    • Enigne 1 (In Service) protection lines upgrades
    • Engine 2 (Out of Service) classified as Reserve, needs starter solenoid
    • Tender 4 (In Service) Pending PM and foam system test/clean, heater repair and work lights
    • Tender 5 (In Service) new muffler and tachometer done, PM completed
    • Brush 6 (In Service) Gear issue resolved next step is rear fire pump and motor
    • Tender 8 (Out of Service) Air lines and brake work
    • Brush 11 (In Service) Pending radio replacement
    • Ford Excursion (In Service) Niles quote still pending for upgrading radio system. Hitch arrived.
    • Trailer 10 – Transported to Wicked for pipe work
  • Station
    • NEPA Permit progressing, Tree and Weed abaitment last week
    • Niles quote still pending for Service Call to base station radio
    • Apron Project
    • Third emergency egress process continuing
    • Annexation of State Land process contiues
    • Office Painting Project, painting quote pending
    • VFG Grant process continuing

Training:         Bi-monthly trainings continue. April 3 training included 6 members and consisted of apparatus started and ran, reveiw and equipment review (2.5 hours).  April 17 training consisted of Tender Driver Training and involved 9 members.  Next training May 1 training (9 am) and May 19 (6 PM).

District Notes:

  • Fire danger is Moderate. State has increase of fire activity and area fire restrictions telephone calls starting soon.
  • SFEFD Wildfire Preparedness program (Ready Set Go, CC EM Emergency Notification, Fire Extinguisher training and evac procedures).
  • State Fire follow up includes Annex proposal, Shaded Fire Break and Engine 2 status.
  • Wagon Wheel Water tested wtih positve results
  • Securis Meeting on April 28th.
