The Fire District provides emergency services to the Sherwood Forest Estates (SFE) and Mountain Rose Ranch Estates (MRRE) developments, and an adjoining large parcel of AZ State Trust land. The fire district encompasses approximately 1,000 acres, with 250 structures with 150 full time residents. The population swells to approximately 400 in the summer. The district is situated 3 miles south of Interstate 40 at exit #171 Pittman Valley/Deer Farm Road.
In 2022, Chief John Moede worked to annex the state trust land adjacent to SFE and MRRE. This will ensure that the SFE Fire District will provide coverage for any homes built in that area.
The Fire District also works closely with adjoining fire agencies by providing and receiving mutual responses which has become a vital and necessary regional practice.
