CHIEF’S REPORT MARCH 16, 2021

Activity:         

  • Incidents since last Board Meeting:
    • 02/17/2021 – Structure Fire 8770 N. Pine Street, working fire
    • 02/22/2021 – Structure Fire 7336 N. Hopi, working fire
    • 03/10/2021 – Telephonic report of stroke patient in district
    • 03/10/2021 – Move up coverage to HCFR, multiple car crashes
  • Region Covid cases report
  • Supply of protective equipment recieved from Flag Fire

Equipment:    

  • Apparatus Update
    • Enigne 1 (In Service) protection line prototype, upgrades
    • Engine 2 (Out of Service) classified as Reserve, needs starter solenoid
    • Tender 4 (In Service) recieved new alternator, foam system test/clean, heater repair and work lights pending
    • Tender 5 (In Service) new muffler and tachometer done
    • Brush 6 (In Service) Is home ($3,800.00 service) next phase is rear fire pump
    • Command 7 – No longer in fleet. Declared surplus and given to HCFR on March 6, VFIS contacted
    • Tender 8 (In Service) Leak at pump,PM service pending
    • Brush 11 (In Service) Received balance bags in steer tires, pending radio replacement
    • Ford Excursion (In Service) Niles quote still pending for upgrading radio system. Lettering completed
  • Station
    • NEPA permits frozen, submitted review for aprons
    • Niles quote still pending for Service Call to base station radio and increased UPS unit in Building 1
    • Seamless Gutters arrived Monday
    • Third emergency egress process continuing
    • Annexation of State Land process contiues to be reviewed
    • Draft contract agreement with (Moose Ranch) Bradbarrie Companies, LLC process continues
    • Painting Project

Training:         Bi-monthly trainings continue. Last training, March 6, included 7 members and consisted of apparatus reveiw and future equipment review (2.5 hours).  Next training March 17 (6 pm). April training scheduled for April 3 and April 17 (Driver Training). 

District Notes:

  • Fire danger is LOW. County Supervisors to receive briefing on upcoming fire season March 23 (3:15). Tonto Basin Fire March 8 – “Fire Season has officially begun”
  • Home Depot accepted partnership, 20% discount on smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors and fire extinguishers.  Specifics to follow.  Part of SFEFD Wildfire Preparedness program
  • Thank you from High Country Fire and Rescue
  • Water account with Bearizona (3.5 cents per gallon) established
  • Water account established with Wagon Wheel Water (Route 66) no cost
